Banyan Bowl could be an arts venue

Pinecrest Mayor Gary Matzner has appointed a special committee to look into the possibility of using the Banyan Bowl at Pinecrest Gardens as a performing arts venue.

The Banyan Bowl Arts Committee will study and make recommendations regarding improvements or replacement of the Banyan Bowl and submit a final report to the village council by next June.

The members of the committee are Darrell Calvin, Kenneth Kurtz and Max Pearl.

The committee will conduct a public workshop to solicit input from the community at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Pinecrest Community Center, 5855 SW 111th St.
